چکیده

Human bites of the ear accounting for 67% of that involving the head and neck. The extent of injury is often underestimated, and the wound is undertreated. The primary treatment goals are infection prevention, minimize possible soft tissue deformity, prevent serious wound complications and finally, reaching healing with good cosmesis. In contrast to congenital ear deformities, little effort has been given to formulate an algorithm for analysis and treatment of acquired partial auricular defects. The complexity of these defects may be challenging for the reconstructive surgeon. The reconstructive surgeon must adequately assess the defect, catalog the missing components, and delineate the tissues available for reconstruction. Numerous techniques have been described as a result of the inadequacy of any single technique to meet such a challenge. The reconstruction of the partial helical defects must contain both structural (skeletal) support and soft-tissue coverage.

Full thickness advancement flap to reconstruct large helical rim

Introduction: Auricular reconstruction of partial ear defects is usually challenging, especially in extended resections or traumas. Helical rim is the most noticeable part of ear with aesthetic significance, which demands detailed procedures. Helical rim advancement is a known procedure to reshape lacerated rim. In the original technique, a chondrocutaneous flap is raised in order to preserve t...

The clinical Outcome of One-stage High Tibial Osteotomy and Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. A Current Concept Systematic and Comprehensive Review

Background: Patients with an anterior cruciate ligament-deficient varus-angulated knee may need not only an isolated high tibial osteotomy (HTO), but also an additional anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). A number of prospective clinical trials have been published considering the combination of HTO and ACL reconstruction. Our aim was to investigate whether one-stage combined HTO...

The arterial blood supply of the helical rim and the earlobe-based advancement flap (ELBAF): a new strategy for reconstructions of helical rim defects.

BACKGROUND Several techniques are currently available for reconstruction of helical rim defects including Antia and Buch's technique. Some of these techniques produce unsatisfying aesthetic results or are time consuming or technically challenging. Herein, we present the earlobe-based advancement flap (ELBAF) technique and its anatomical basis for reconstruction of helical rim defects. METHODS...
